‘Broken’ Billionaire Merckle Killed Self, Family Says (Update3)
Jan. 6 (Bloomberg) -- German billionaire Adolf Merckle committed suicide by throwing himself under a train, “broken” as his business empire crumbled under a growing burden of debt, his family said. The 74 year-old businessman was hit yesterday evening near his hometown of Blaubeuren, 44 miles southeast of Stuttgart, a police officer said in an interview. While the national and international media were working themselves and much of the public into a frenzy about imaginary hordes of murderers, rapists, snipers, marauders, and general rampagers among the stranded crowds of mostly poor, mostly black people in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina, a group of white men went on a shooting spree across the river. Beware of New Syndrome: "Sudden Death After Arrest"
(Posted Dec. 4, 2008) September 3, 2008 Apparently, medical examiners are being given something new to put on autopsy reports to replace "death by taser" or "trauma after beatings." Hopefully, this new syndrome, called "sudden death after arrest," is not an ailment minority youths are more susceptible to than other people. After all, medical examiners in some places are not allowed to write "death by taser" any longer. This new syndrome does not bode well for minority persons, mental patients, or political protesters, who may have less immunity to "excited delirium" and "sudden death after arrest" than the rest of the population.. » read more
