It's freedom of 'religion,' Mr. President
It's just one more "fiber" of the U.S. Constitution, but if enough are torn, the document itself will unravel, according to a Washington-based faith organization that is chiding Barack Obama for repeatedly referring to the "freedom of worship" in the United States, when the Constitution actually calls for "freedom of religion." Officials with the Faith and Freedom Institute have dispatched a letter to the president, asking that he correct himself. "While some may deem the words 'worship' and 'religion' to be synonymous, and thus interchangeable, they are most definitely not!" said the letter from Faith and Freedom Institute President Gary Dull, Vice President Dave Kistler and historian Don Kistler.. » read more

Chicago's new gun law goes into effect today
Chicago's newly minted handgun regulation law goes into effect today, less than a month after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the city's ban on handguns. The new ordinance bans gun shops in Chicago and prohibits gun owners from stepping outside their homes, even onto their porches or in their garages, with a handgun. "Our big thing is knowing who has weapons," Chicago Police Supt.. » read more
Court: Regulation of free speech stops here! Judges block politicians from chilling those holding government accountable
A federal court has ruled unconstitutional an attempt by New Mexico politicians to regulate the political free speech of activists working to hold their elected officials accountable to the people. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth District in Denver, Colo., ruled that New Mexico Youth Organized could not be classified as a political organization subject to government regulation simply because it advocates political issues and educates the public on how lawmakers vote on those issues.. » read more
The Palin Principle: Bible Trumps Constitution
Sarah Palin can't seem to distinguish between the Bible and the American Constitution. Appearing recently on Bill O'Reilly's TV show, Palin advised that what we need to do in this country is - "Go back to what our founders and our founding documents meant - they're quite clear - that we would create law based on the God of the bible and the ten commandments." Huffington Post That's quite a statement - but nothing new to those who would re-imagine this country as one based on religion. Indeed, the religious right has long sought to make the case that the United States was founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs despite the fact that the evidence clearly points to a very different intent. While purveyors of this notion have come up with any number of reasons to support their claim, the most often cited 'proof' is the fact that the Declaration of Independence puts God front and center.. » read more
Wyoming Sheriff vs Big Brother Feds: Guess Who Won
April 2, 2010) The duly elected sheriff of a county is the highest law enforcement official within a county. He has law enforcement powers that exceed that of any other state or federal official. This is settled law that most people are not aware of. County sheriffs in Wyoming have scored a big one for the 10th Amendment and states rights. The sheriffs slapped a federal intrusion upside the head and are insisting that all federal law enforcement officers and personnel from federal regulatory agencies must clear all their activity in a Wyoming County with the Sheriff's Office.. » read more
CENSUS AND THE CONSTITUTION
Many of you by now have received your 2010 Census form in the mail and have waded through the questions. I must admit I was braced for much more intrusive questions but was still wondering why the federal government needs to know whether I own or rent the dwelling I am inhabiting and how that allows them to ascertain my states representation. On the very front of the envelope it states “U.S. Census Form Enclosed YOUR RESPONSE IS REQUIRED BY LAW.. » read more
UTAH to U.S>: GIVE US BACK OUR LAND!
Today, Utah has TRILLIONS of dollars of natural resources that are being blocked by Federal Land Grabs that have made them unrecoverable. 70% of the State is controlled by the Federal Government under an original deal that would have benefited Utah's educational system among other things like provided more jobs. Instead, the Feds have land locked much of the resources preventing Utah from the revenues therefrom and holding the carrot out in front of our noses by offering assistance from Washington with all kinds of strings attached. The Feds are considering yet another land grab and some within Utah's legislature feel like enough is enough and are proposing that through eminent domain, Utah take back control of the land. This video clip is when Chris Herrod was interviewed recently on Fox News about the bill that is now on Utah's Capitol Hill to reclaim Utah's land.. » read more
