Ancient skull reconstructed in 3D X-rays show in stunning detail the interior of the skull of a new human-like creature found in South Africa. The hominid Australopithecus sediba was presented to the world last week. The X-ray images reveal information about the ancient animal's brain and tantalising evidence of the insects that may have fed on the dead body. Egypt to Announce King Tut DNA Results

Egypt's archaeology chief plans to reveal the results of DNA testing and CT scans on the mummy of King Tutankhamun. CAIRO -- Egypt will soon reveal the results of DNA tests made on the world's most famous ancient king, the young Pharaoh Tutankhamun, to answer lingering mysteries over his lineage, the antiquities department said Sunday. Speaking at a conference, archaeology chief Zahi Hawass said he would announce the results of the DNA tests and the CAT scans on Feb. 17.
