Posted Nov. 24, 2008 There once was a young person named Little Red Riding Hood who lived on the edge of a large forest full of endangered owls and rare plants that would probably provide a cure for cancer if only someone took the time to study them. Red Riding Hood lived with a nurture giver whom she sometimes referred to as "mother", although she didn't mean to imply by this term that she would have thought less of the person if a close biological link did not in fact exist. U.S Officials Flunk History Test
Nov. 21, 2008 US elected officials have scored abysmally on a test measuring their civic knowledge, with an average grade of just 44 per cent, the group that organised the exam said. Ordinary citizens did not fare much better, scoring just 49 per cent correct on the 33 exam questions compiled by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI). "It is disturbing enough that the general public failed ISI's civic literacy test, but when you consider the even more dismal scores of elected officials, you have to be concerned," said Josiah Bunting, chairman of the National Civic Literacy Board at ISI.
